Boy Scouts now offer video game merit awards

Video Game Belt Loop and Pin Article Click to read whole story.

Mainstream media (by way of the blogosphere) recently became aware of the six-month-old news that ( OH NOES!) Boy Scouts of America now offers video game awards in the form of a belt loop and the more advanced video game pin. Hysteria over our nation’s lost youth immediately ensued, needlessly. Check it out.

Bike Rodeo

Don’t forget the Bike Rodeo!!!

When? August 8th at 4:30PM
Where? Lakeland City Hall
What to wear? Class B uniforms
What to bring? The kids need to have their bikes and proper riding gear. A helmet and shoes (not anything open toe or heel). Parents might want to bring a chair and a camera.

We will have hot dogs, water, and bug juice as well as bicycle police officers to talk with the kids and parents.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Kia Kima Blast Off!!!

Kia Kima was a great success. Meaning no one got left behind! (bad Cub Scout humor)

All the Scouts enjoyed a nice HOT, at times humid, 4 days in Arkansas. We all learned a lesson in proper hydration and eating when sweating out 3-4 gallons of water a day. Scout parents did an excellent job demonstrating what you can and should not do with a  vehicle  when camping.  Mr. Zoccola even had a mini class on correct way to ensure your insurance claim will be successful.

Big thank you to the Leaders that made this camp out possible and for keeping our boys safe. Even when the Scouts were determined not to be safe.

Pictures are posted.  http://www.bsa457.com/?page_id=61
